The Chief Executive Officer of Cassa Centrale Banca, Sandro Bolognesi, has agreed with the Board of Directors to step down from his role as General Manager and from his position as Chief Executive Officer.
Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, and with the decisive contribution of the member cooperative credit banks, the Group has secured a leading position within the Italian banking sector.
Trento, 6 August 2026 – The Chief Executive Officer of Cassa Centrale Banca, Sandro Bolognesi, agreed today with the Board of Directors to step down from his role as General Manager and from his position as Chief Executive Officer.
This decision came at the end of a period of intense professional and managerial activity, during which the Group strengthened its position within the national banking sector by consolidating its profitability, capital base, asset quality and ability to serve its affiliated banks and local communities.
In recent years, the Cassa Centrale Group has, in fact, recorded significant growth: consolidated net profit rose from €333 million in 2022 to €1,162 million at the end of the previous year; ROE increased from 4.7% to 11.1%; whilst the ratio of net impaired exposures to total loans fell to 0.6%. The CET1 ratio stands at around 30%, confirming a very strong capital base. Total deposits exceed €129 billion, net lending stands at €50.9 billion and net commission income amounts to €887 million. The Group now has over 1,500 branches and 12,580 employees, confirming its deep roots and the central importance of its relationship with local communities.
